Chris Purcell - Eastbourne 41 Club

Chris Purcell

May 1955 to January 2022

Eastbourne 41 Club are sad to announce that member Chris Purcell has sadly passed away surrounded by his family after a short illness bravely fought to the very last.

Chris was past member of Eastbourne 32 Round Table and held nearly every position as an active participant in the club including Chairman in 2000/2001. He was a great advocate of combining fun, fundraising and fellowship enjoying each in equal measure. He and his wife Fran also enjoyed many Euro 32 meetings and National conferences.

Chris joined 41 Club and continued in active roles including Chairman in 2014/2015, and latterly serving several terms as Secretary.

After retiring from a career in NHS logistics he qualified as a counsellor and put his caring and supportive nature to good use establishing his own practice in Eastbourne for a number of years. He was also a strong advocate of supporting men's mental health and pastoral support.

Chris will always be known for his dedication to our club, his interest in others, compassionate and caring nature and will be fondly remembered for his active involvement in having a really good time.

Our condolences go to his wife Fran, his son Adam, daughter Lisa, grandson Joseph and wider family.
