Jose Azevedo - Algarve 41 Club
Dr. José Pearce de Azevedo O.B.E. our Hon. President for 25 years died on 20 January 2014. Grandson of a President of Portugal, himself 35 years British Consul in Algarve, President Algarve Tourism Board, Captain Port of Portimão and Golf Director at Penina. With his wife Zefita (his field-marshall) Jose did much for the British Community in the Algarve and was a great supporter of our 41 Club rarely missing a meeting after retirement. A wise humorous speaker who brought new meaning to his favourite phrase “may the hinges of friendship never rust”. Don’t worry José they never will.
