Ken Martin - Harrow & Wembley 41 Club
Harrow & Wembley regret to report the death of Past Chairman Ken Martin on the 3rd October 2021 at the age of 83. Ken had been dogged by poor health for some years but had always come through with fortitude and a positive attitude that allowed him to participate in Club Meetings until nearly the end when he died peacefully sitting in his chair.His attitude was an example to us all.
He joined Wembley Table in 1965 where he was both Secretary and Chairman over the years.
Ken had created much goodwill between parties when with no feeder tables,the two clubs combined originally. He was Secretary and Chairman 2006 to 2012.
In May 2015 he was elected President .
He was much respected locally at home in Tring Herts as a Church Warden , a job which he also undertook seriously like all his social involvements.In 41 Club his stirling work as Secretary and chairman Originally did much to help the smooth transition of the 2 clubs.
Ken was a family man taking great pride in his Children and Grand children as well as keeping up his long standing interest in his Garden. As a true gentleman his advice and wisdom will be missed.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with wife Olga after 50 years of marriage , Son Simon,daughter Julia, and all his Grandchildren.
