Book Of Remembrances

Harold Johnson - Harrow & Wembley 41 Club

Harold died peacefully at a nursing home close to his family home in Northwood at the age of nearly 89 after a few years of gradual decline.

He was well known for his Engineering skills and love throughout his long life of all things mechanical.

Many of us will remember him for organising glider trips on late summer afternoons at Dunstable Downs , his love of old cars and in later years his love of boating.

In his working life, as an Engineer, he pioneered and developed control systems to enable those who suffered from thalidomide to drive vehicles.

He joined Wembley table in 1950 and went up to 41 Club in 1966 where he was both Chairman and President in 1992-3 and 1994-5 respectively many years later joining the newly combined Clubs of Harrow & Wembley.

Our thoughts and condolences go to his son Stuart, Daughter Margaret, and his grandchildren at this time of sad loss.
