Michael Lycett - Stoke Sutherland 41 Club

LYCETT , Michael

Stoke Sutherland 41 Club

We are sad to announce the death of Mike Lycett on December 13th 2020 at the age of 83 after a long illness patiently borne.

A Founder Member of Stoke-on-Trent Sutherland Round Table 872 which was formed in 1965, Mike became Chairman in 1974. He had held many offices and posts during the formative years of the new Round Table with all his typical enthusiasm, his sporting and fund raising activities .

In 1977 Mike retired from Round Table under the old age rule, and together with friends of a similar age formed a past members club; subsequently Stoke Sutherland 41Club was founded and Mike served 3 times as Chairman. He loved his 41 club Meetings and was a good friend to us all, in what has now become a small club due to the much-reduced numbers in Round Table. He has been sadly missed at our recent 41 club zoom meetings.

Mike never really properly retired. He was involved in the North Staffs National Trust Association, he was on the Staffordshire Moorlands Safer Neighbourhood Panel, was a Police Custody Visitor and a Past President of the Burslem Association for the Prosecution of Felons.

Our love and thoughts are with his Widow Marion and their families and friends at this time of great loss.
