Dennis Parr - Royal Deeside 41 Club

DENNIS PARR 21-03-1944 TO 08-01-2017.

Royal Deeside 41 Club regret to announce that Founder Member Dennis Parr passed away on 08-01-2017 after a long and courageous fight against cancer.

Dennis joined Banchory and District RT No 1085 shortly after moving to Banchory in 1975. A corrosion engineer, his work took him all over the world, often for lengthy periods, so he was never able to take office either in RT or 41 club, but he regaled us with interesting accounts of his travels and work.

Dennis was a Founder Member and instigator of the formation of Royal Deeside 41 Club in 1985.

His attendance at Table and 41 Club events was always characterised by his good humour and friendliness.

He was an Elder in Banchory East Church, an active member of the local Conservative party and Banchory Paths Association.

He enjoyed chess which he taught his grandchildren to play, walking, fishing, snooker and golf.

He was a much loved husband to Morag, Dad to Angus and Alexandra and her husband Philip, and Papa to Toby, Oscar and Jasper and is fondly remembered.
