Ian McAuley - Ampthill & District 41 Club

Iain McAuley

We lost our good friend Iain during 2020. He was a popular member of Ampthill and District 41 Club and prior to that, Reading club. When his job took him north to Chester, he became a member there.

Ian was also a member of the Caledonian Society and promoted Scottish affairs, he introduced a regular “Burns Night” supper event at Ampthill, where he addressed the haggis, and this was attended by many other local area Tables and 41 Clubs. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sandra, and their adult children.

Iain worked in the newspaper industry with the Thompson Group, the Daily Mail and the Metro amongst others.
